Firm Obtains Recovery For Paraplegic Little Girl

A mother was driving with her two young girls in her 1988 Nissan Sentra. One girl was in the right front passenger seat wearing her lap/shoulder belt. Her other daughter was a rear passenger wearing a lap-belt only. Their car was hit head on.

The other driver received no injuries. The mother and her daughter in the front seat, were wearing their lap/shoulder belts. They received only minor injuries. The child in the rear seat was the farthest away from the point of impact. She was wearing only a lap-belt. She suffered an L-3 spinal fracture and is a complete paraplegic.

These injuries were caused by the force applied to her abdomen, which would have been prevented if the rear seat had a shoulder harness to restrain her upper torso and head.
