Firm Obtains Recovery For Paraplegic Little GirlA mother was driving with her two young girls in her 1988 Nissan Sentra. One girl was in the right front passenger seat wearing her lap/shoulder belt. Her other daughter was a rear passenger wearing a lap-belt only. Their car was hit head on. The other driver received no injuries. The mother and her daughter in the front seat, were wearing their lap/shoulder belts. They received only minor injuries. The child in the rear seat was the farthest away from the point of impact. She was wearing only a lap-belt. She suffered an L-3 spinal fracture and is a complete paraplegic. These injuries were caused by the force applied to her abdomen, which would have been prevented if the rear seat had a shoulder harness to restrain her upper torso and head. |
