Ted Leopold Named to the Cumberland School of Law Advisory Board

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Theodore (Ted) J. Leopold a partner in the West Palm Beach firm of Ricci*Leopold, P.A., has been named to the Samford University, Birmingham, AL - Cumberland School of Law Advisory Board. The Board examines and makes recommendations for improvement and study in all facets of the law school - including but not limited to admissions, curriculum, placement and development functions. Mr. Leopold's appointment is for a two-year term.

Ted Leopold received his JD from Cumberland School of Law in 1987. He is nationally recognized for his expertise and successful work on behalf of clients in handling complex matters of automotive crash-worthiness, managed care/insurance bad faith and wrongful death litigation. He was a member of the plaintiff's executive committee in the HMO managed care national class action litigation, which was venued in the U.S. District Court - Southern District of Florida. Additionally, Mr. Leopold serves on the settlement committee in the Ford and Bridgestone/Firestone national class action litigation, which involves issues related to defective ATX Firestone tires and the diminution in value of the Ford Explorer.

Mr. Leopold is a nationally recognized and sought after speaker, lecturer and instructor to bar and professional trial, business, advocacy and community organizations on managed care, legal and safety issues, and has co-authored a number of legal publications, articles and papers on the subjects.

He is a member of the Florida Bar, United States District Court Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, The Florida Justice Association, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Palm Beach County Justice Association, American Board of Trial Advocates and the Association of Trial Lawyer of America. Mr. Leopold has achieved an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available from the nation's most respected guide to the legal profession. Additionally, he has earned the Florida Bar board certification, the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar, for competency and experience and is Board certified in civil trial law. In 2000, he was honored by the Trial Lawyer for Public Justice as a finalist for the "Trial Lawyer of the Year." Mr. Leopold is active in a number of philanthropic, social service, cultural and community organizations.
