An Art Filled Thanksgiving Luncheon For Students At Hope Rural SchoolINDIANTOWN, Fla.- December 4, 2002- For over a decade the students of Hope Rural in Indiantown have provided the artwork for the Thanksgiving and Christmas cards of the West Palm Beach law firm, Ricci, Leopold & Farmer. In appreciation for their creative efforts, the children were honored with a special Thanksgiving luncheon and gifts on Tuesday, November 26th. A collage of all the students’ drawings was framed and given to the school by Ed Ricci at the luncheon. Ricci also took the opportunity to announce that the artwork of fourth-grader Philemon Permis was chosen for this year’s card. Hope Rural School was founded in 1980 in Indiantown, Florida. West Palm Beach attorney Ed Ricci and his wife Judge Mary Lupo provided an initial gift that help found the school. Since that time Ricci and Lupo have stayed involved and watched the progress of the school. Ricci has served as a member of the Hope Rural board of directors and voluntary counsel to the school for the past 22 years. “When Mary and I assisted in founding the school, the need was enormous for children whose parents were migrant farm workers. The number of children attending the school has increased steadily over the years. But, all that the school offers to these very special boys and girls has not,” said Ricci. “The children are not only provided with a tremendous educational start, but with attention, love, positive reinforcement and direction.” The mission of Hope Rural School is to educate the immigrant children of migrants and farm workers in an environment of love and encouragement. Hope Rural is a private Catholic elementary school (K-6) with a 501(c)3 status. Hope Rural School is located at 15927 S.W. 150th Street, Indiantown, Florida 33456.
