Theodore Leopold elected president of Palm Beach County Bar AssociationAlso named chairman of the Association of Consumer Justice Attorneys of America Product Liability Section WEST PALM BEACH, FL.- Theodore (Ted) J. Leopold, partner in the Palm Beach Gardens based law firm of Ricci~Leopold will be installed as president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association at an installation banquet on Saturday, June 4 at The Breakers in Palm Beach. Leopold was also most recently appointed chairman of the Association of Consumer Justice Attorneys of America Product Liability Section. Leopold received his JD from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in 1987 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Miami. He is nationally recognized for his counsel on complex automotive crashworthiness, managed care, class action and personal injury/wrongful death litigation. Leopold served as a member of the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee of the HMO Managed Care national class action litigation, he also served on the settlement committee in the Ford and Bridgestone/Firestone national class action litigation and represented over 70 families against Menorah Gardens/Service International Corporation (SCI) for grave and cemetery desecration and fraud. He and his partner Edward M. Ricci in January of 2000 won the largest managed care verdict for an individual client in Florida, in the Chipps v. Humana case. Ted Leopold is profiled in “The Best Lawyers in America” and has achieved an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available from this venerable guide to attorneys. He has earned the Florida Bar Certification, the highest level of recognition for competency and experience for a civil trial attorney. He has been honored by the Public Justices as a nominee for Trial Lawyer of the Year. Leopold is the immediate past-president of the Palm Beach Justice Unit of B’Nai B’Rith, serves on the Board of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Board of the Attorney Information Exchange Group, the Cumberland School of Law Advisory Board, the Board for the Public Justice and on the professionalism Committee of the Florida Bar Association. He is the past president of the Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy, as well as the Safety Council of Palm Beach County and of Rebekah’s House, the first transitional home for homeless women in Palm Beach County. In 2003, Leopold received the Judge Learned Hand award from the American Jewish Committee for his life long commitment to the legal profession and this community. Leopold has had countless articles published in a number of prestigious law and business publications and has taught, lectured and been the featured speaker at dozens of professional conferences, law schools and seminars. He is a Florida native and a resident of Palm Beach Gardens with his wife and school age children.
