Theodore (Ted) Leopold, partner at the law firm of Ricci~Leopold, P.A. in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida presented the Shalloway & Shalloway Elder Advocate Award to Sandra Greenberg of Boynton Beach on May 11, 2004 at the Palm Beach Gardens Embassy Suites’ Hotel.
The Elder Advocate Award is given for advocating for the needs and concerns of elders. Sandra Greenberg was nominated by Palm Beach County Commissioner Warren Newell and was selected to receive this honor by an independent panel of judges. Greenberg volunteers for the Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations and champions causes relating to quality of life issues.
The Shalloway & Shalloway Elder Advocate Award is presented in part by the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA). AFELA is a non-profit organization which assists lawyers, bar organizations, and others who work with older clients and their families. Established in 1993, AFELA provides a resource of information, education, networking, and assistance to those who work with the many special issues confronting the elderly and the disabled. Elder law attorneys focus on the legal needs of the elderly, and work with a variety of legal tools and techniques to meet the goals and objectives of the older client.
